Jersey City Has Metro Area’s Fastest Rising Rent
Jersey City is experiencing a rental market surge, with tenants feeling the impact of fast-rising rents. According to a recent report by Zumper, Jersey City saw the fastest-growing rents in the New York metro area, with a 48.7% increase year-over-year in the median rent for a one-bedroom unit.
The median rent for a one-bedroom unit in Jersey City is now $2,900 per month, which is tied with Hoboken for second place in the area, behind only New York City’s $3,790. This rapid increase in rent is good news for landlords, but it’s causing some stress for tenants who are struggling to keep up with the fast-paced market. With the rental market showing no signs of slowing down, it’s important for renters in Jersey City to stay informed and budget accordingly.

Hudson County Chamber of Commerce
The Hudson County Chamber of Commerce is the leading resource for driving economic growth in Hudson County, providing education, advocacy, and access to our members in each community.
We value the diversity that has always been at the heart of Hudson County, which is one of the most dynamic and diverse counties in the country. We also appreciate the County's urban character, which has been critical to its growth and development.
We believe that shopping, service procurement, and giving locally are critical to sustaining a healthy regional economy. The Hudson County Chamber strives to practice what it preaches, in addition to educating our Members and the public about shopping, procuring services, and giving locally. Our policy is to shop and seek services in Hudson County before considering vendors from outside the county. Furthermore, before considering a local, non-member vendor, we will consider doing business with our Members first.

Jersey City Housing Authority
The Jersey City Housing Authority is the state's second-largest public housing authority, serving over 15,000 residents and managing 7,100 housing units, including 2,500 public housing units and over 4,600 Housing Choice Vouchers.
The JCHA has been recognized as an advocate for energy efficiency and green building practices, policies that promote Section 3 hiring, and an unblemished track record of revitalizing distressed public housing. Furthermore, after implementing several reforms to ensure the success of its Section 8 program, the JCHA notched the highest HUD SEMAP performance scores in the agency's history for the last three consecutive years, and in two of those years, the highest score in the state among similarly-sized municipal public housing authorities.

Housing & Community Development Network of New Jersey
Since 1989, the Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey has worked to improve the environment for community development corporations (CDCs) and strengthen their capacity to create housing and revitalize distressed neighborhoods across the state.
The Network is a statewide association of over 250 non-profit housing and community development corporations, individuals, professional organizations, and prominent New Jersey corporations that support creating housing options and economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income community residents.
The Network and its members are united in their commitment to promoting economic justice and the empowerment of low-income individuals and communities, as well as encouraging greater participation in the development and implementation of public policies. We assist our CDC members by providing targeted technical assistance and educational programs, pursuing additional resources and improved public policies, and conducting research on ways to increase the sector's impact and effectiveness.
